Classes are held ONLINE via the ZOOM platform, starting on October 14, 2024 and taking place on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.

The purpose of the educational program in project management is to enable participants to acquire the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary for successful project management.

This program aims to help participants understand the basics of project management and gain practical experience in applying project management to real-life examples. 
The educational program also aims to enable participants to develop their skills in planning processes, creating project budgets, finding appropriate sources of funding, understanding the IT support needed for project planning, implementation, and control. 
The program allows for the development of "soft" skills necessary for successful project team leadership and introduces participants to modern methodologies for agile project management.

Project Management

The Project Management education program covers fundamental knowledge in the field of project management. The program consists of 30 school hours of instruction.

The educational program in project management aims to improve the ability of project managers to successfully lead projects and achieve project goals within the constraints of time, budget, and quality. 
All program participants receive a UEP certificate of attendance upon completion, as well as IPMA CPD Record & Proof of Participation certificates with digital badges. These certificates and digital badges serve as proof of completion of an internationally registered program in accordance with the International Project Management Association (IPMA REG) system. IPMA REG is evidence of the international quality and relevance of registered programs in the field of project management. By completing the program, participants also earn CPD points, which demonstrate their continuous professional development and can be used for IPMA recertification purposes, increasing their global recognition among project management professionals. 
The program's additional value for participants includes the optional opportunity to attend a preparatory seminar and take the exam to obtain an internationally recognized certificate in accordance with the International Project Management Association (IPMA) system). 

The educational program consists of 30 school hours, and the curriculum is divided into six modules (each with 5 school hours):

Ariana Vela

MBA, IPMA/A

About the lecturer

Ariana Vela is one of the most recognized experts in EU funds and public procurement in Croatia and the region, with over 20 years of experience. She has been involved in the preparation and implementation of over 500 projects funded by EU grants (portfolio of €6+ billion), including the largest project, the "Pelješac Bridge", or "Road Connectivity with Southern Dalmatia". She conceived and launched the first Croatian portal on EU funds (eu-projekti.info) and wrote the first book on project preparation and implementation titled "ESI Funds Management". She is an external expert for the world's most famous consulting company - McKinsey and Company, as well as a lecturer at numerous higher education institutions. She holds an MBA in management, is a certified public procurement trainer, and is currently pursuing a PhD in business economics at the Faculty of Economics in Rijeka. At the EU PROJECTS School, she serves as the President of the Management Board and lecturer. In the company AVELANT Ltd., as CEO, she is responsible for overall company and portfolio management, strengthening the capacities of the entire consulting team, introducing innovations in work and business, and leading major projects. 

Marko Šimac

M.Sc. (Civ. Eng.)

About the lecturer

Marko Šimac graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the University of Zagreb. He is employed at Hrvatske ceste (Croatian Roads) where he is the head of the Road Infrastructure Management Department in the Development and IT Support Sector. Throughout his career as a consultant, he gained experience working on some of the most significant projects in various industries such as construction, energy, transportation infrastructure, etc. His particular area of interest is the digital transformation of construction. He is a certified project manager according to IPMA standards and PMP according to PMI standards. He is a PM2 Alliance certified trainer. He is the Vice President of the Croatian branch of the Project Management Institute. He holds the teaching position of senior lecturer and is the course leader in project management at several higher education institutions. He successfully prepares candidates for PMI and IPMA certifications. He has participated in many domestic and international conferences and is the author or co-author of numerous professional and scientific papers in project management. He is a member of many professional associations and actively participates in their work. He continued his education in the "MBA in construction" program at the University of Zagreb.

Mladen Vukomanović

PhD

About the lecturer

Mladen Vukomanović, Phd, participates in projects, programs, and portfolios in the real and public sectors both domestically and internationally. His active involvement in several scientific research projects has resulted in the publication of more than 100 papers and 4 books. He is actively present at international scientific conferences, where he has delivered numerous invited lectures. He is a permanent scientific advisor in the field of Technical Sciences and has been elected to the interdisciplinary field of Project Management. He is certified according to the international standard for project management (IPMA) for project management (IPMA Level A – Project Director) and consulting and training (IPMA Level A – Executive Consultant, Coach and Trainer). He serves as Vice President of the global association for project management – International Project Management Association (IPMA). He is the President of IPMA Croatia and leads the Croatian body for digital transformation in construction – buildingSMART Croatia.

Romeo Jerčić

About the lecturer

Romeo Jerčić graduated in Electronics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Naval Architecture in Split. He completed a group of pedagogical subjects at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split and an EMBA at the CBA Business School in Zagreb. He is a certified AoEC Executive Coach. He attended seminars and training at reputable European schools such as IEDC Bled and MCA in Brussels. He completed certification for the "Accountability" program by the American company "Partners in Leadership". He has worked in various industries and environments and has extensive experience in international organizations, where he gained significant experience working in multicultural settings. He worked in organizations such as UNHCR, the American IRC, and NCH from Dallas. He led sales at Austrian VIPnet and Swedish TELE2. He also has experience working in the FMCG and insurance sectors where he led internal sales. He is currently the Director of Develor Croatia, which, as part of the Develor International group, helps organizations across Europe achieve business excellence. He has extensive experience in sales, leading, and motivating different teams, as well as training them. He shares practical experiences aimed at better meeting the client's needs.

Josipa Borić-Novosel

B.sc. (Econ)

About the lecturer

With more than two decades of experience working in a leading telecom company, Josipa has shaped, led, and managed IT teams. After completing her studies, she attended numerous training courses in communication (verbal, non-verbal, NLP, psychotherapy) and coaching, emphasizing wellbeing. As a Scrum Master in recent years, she has ensured the agility of dozens of teams, focusing on the team as an entity and its growth and development. She holds certifications as a Professional Agile Leader and Professional Scrum Master. She is one of the co-organizers of the Scrum Master community, which brings together Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches from various industries interested in applying the agile framework in their organizations.

Nino Magić

MBI

About the lecturer

Nino Magić is a master of business informatics. After many years of working primarily as a software engineer (solution designer, team leader, and business analyst) in the private and banking sector, he has taken on various roles related to agile work over the past decade: Scrum Master, Product Owner, Agile Coach, and specialist in agile transformation. He is a certified Scrum Professional (CSP-SM), Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), and LeSS (Large Scrum Scale) practitioner. He has completed additional training in professional coaching, team leadership, management, and scaling agile frameworks. He has extensive experience working with Scrum, Kanban, Lean, LeSS, Scrum@Scale, and the Spotify model. He is currently focused on teaching, mentoring, and coaching individuals, teams, and organizations.
